Are there good alternatives to Norton Utilities?

As well as their normal screensavers, they can also use the O&O screensaver included with delivery which displays the defragmentation status. O&O Defrag also boasts an Offline Defragmentation (optional with the next or with every boot up) which can also move files that Windows normally blocks during operations. This option is especially useful with Windows NT 4 and 2000 as these systems block more files from being moved than Windows XP and 2003.

The remote functions of the program allow network administrators to distribute and control the Client software across an entire network. No management interface from O&O Defrag is installed on the users work system. The network structure takes over the software from the Active Directory, which at the same time is a condition for remote installation […] Management comes directly from the server, meaning there is no need for a separate management console. The Admin distributes settings with group directives and the administrator interface allows for remote control of individual systems as well as reporting the condition of all Clients. The software is actually easy enough to get to grips with without a handbook or online help, but the printed handbook supplied (also available in PDF) is also easy to understand and provides a good introduction to the software.

Registry cleaner I like is RegSupreme Pro - only $17. Only use it in Normal mode - don't overclean.

Then why not spend $13 and get the normal version RegSupreme if you're not going to use 'Aggressive' Cleaning?

(Its an open question as I personally have RegSupreme Pro and just use Normal Cleaning myself).

As for the Norton Systemworks Alternative.

Freeware Alternative
1. AVG Free
2. Comodo Firewall (or Window's own firewall)
3. XP's Defrag + PageDefrag
4. XP's Backup software

Commercial Alternatives
1. NOD32
2. Comodo (still an awesome program)
3. Diskeeper 2007
4. Acronis TrueImage (I LOVE this program....)
