This monitor(LG 34WQ500) is for sale in my area at a bargain. Apparently after 4 hours of use horizontal lines appear on the bottom of the screen.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be and if it's worth buying and fixing?

might be due to other electronic gadgets (cellular phones, cordless telephones, rotating fanatics) which can be too near the monitor or by means of devices plugged into the same circuit because the monitor, also try change cables..

I'd go with @helpstar's answer.

Since I'm an electronics design engineer, I'd take the back off and when the fault appears, go hunting for duff components on the pcbs with a can of freezer spray and a hair drier.

Not much point if it's the display itself. It's not a good idea to freeze display panels.

Don't try this at home if you're not a skilled technician or an engineer. We don't want to read your obituary.

He doesn't own it. It is simply for sale, cheap.
