The motherboard is for 8th gen CPUs and the one you linked is a 9th gen. To use 9th gen you currently have to have a Z370 motherboard. Or, if you stick with the 8th gen board get an i5-8400 or 8600K.

The RAM would be OK either way.

change motherboard and stick to this cpu ?
or stick to old motherboard and use i5-8400 cpu ?

Ugh - meant Z390 and yes that board should be fine since you have a locked CPU and will not be overclocking. Since buying new you may as well get the latest generation.

You could probably do a bit of overclocking but doubt it would be very much. The cheaper mobos have lower quality/fewer VRMs therefore can't overclock very much if at all. And, you'd need to buy a ~$50 CPU cooler as the 9600k doesn't come with one.

That would work, for the 9600K that mobo is more than enough.
