I had an issue with Armoury Crate software of my ASUS laptop, (I wanted to install an add-on) and the only way to install it again was to uninstall AC using ASUS official uninstaller which I duly did. Re-installed and everything worked perfectly. I followed the steps provided by ASUS, (https://rog.asus.com/articles/guides/how-to-cleanly-uninstall-and-reinstall-armoury-crate/) and the laptop configuration works like it used to, but I am worried that I shouldn’t have done this and will it affect the smooth operation of Windows 11? Many thanks.

I have checked the reliability checker and can see all the devices and drivers were uninstalled and then reinstalled on restart.

How does the software know what laptop I have and how to control the fans etc. if you re-install the software?

When my previous MSI laptop went in for repairs many years ago, the software equivalent of Armoury Crate didn’t work when I got the laptop back. They had replaced the motherboard. So I’m just interested how the software recognises the laptop I have?

Thanks in advance.

Don´t worry, the software is just like a driver and recognizes the hardware with genuine specifications. Like name/model tag/ serial number/ BIOS,...

don´t know what the previous problem with your MSI was, but should have worked after replacing the motherboard as well. maybe old BIOS or Driver issue

If it's functioning as it should I'd leave it alone.

Armory Crate is proprietary to Asus gear.

That's MSI, you're working with an Asus laptop which tends to have a little more resources dropped into their products and their dev teams.
