There is 2 ethernet port on this modem, and it is just a modem, not a router. Since there is two ethernet ports, can I plug one into the router and one into my computer? Thanks in advance.

Only if the ISP gives you 2 IP addresses which they almost never do. It is not the number of ports that is the restriction it is the number of ip addresses. There are cases like a apartment building the ISP will put in a modem and connect it to a switch and run ethernet cables to each apartment. It will then give IP addresses to each apartment.

What the second port is suppose to allow you to do is combine the ports to get 2gbit. No ISP offers that service yet and even with they do there are limitation with the port aggregation algorithm that will likely make it hard to really get 2gbit.
