Would you be able to go into detail why it doesn't support Optimus technology is it a problem with Asus or Nvidia or both?

I'm curious whether Asus is going to make more "gamey" AMD laptops like the N56DP (except preferably without bundled Windows 8), which I personally enjoy very much even though it's impossible to buy one in this country. Or do you intent to ditch AMD from your laptops completely? Judging by the selection (2 AMD laptops and what...30 Intel laptops?) I'd definitely say it seems like it.

Thanks.

I felt almost the same way, at least for initial impressions. Could of been an awesome game, but, each Crysis game had some serious flaws such as anti-cheat and the fact that Crytek just released their last scheduled patch without releasing a mod sdk (modders is what fixed Crysis Wars anti-cheat)

I have all my components at the ready, waiting for the DirectCU II 780. Can you offer any idea as to when it will be available in the UK? The waiting is driving me crazy! Thanks!

For your motherboards can we get a searchable and or editable data base on your web page. Most users find the small PDF qal list lacking. Guys every talked to computer case builders to get rid of brass standoff and use a standard plastic frame?? Keep the new builders from bolting there high end asus mb to the mb tray and zapping them. For the guys that write the mb help guilds. New builders Need a page highlights these plugs need to be installed for the mb to power on. A lot new builders here miss the four or eight pin pci power plug. Also needs warning not to use the gpu six plus two cable in the wrong spot. On CPU install page arrow or note shows pin one or the CPU is keyed. As a repair tech I seen the old use a hammer to get parts in. Ie I seen snapped ram slots from people forcing ram in wrong way.
On your sabertooth and mb with covers...could you guys put some led under the mb to backlight the boards.

Heck yeah! I run seti@home on my CPU and the GPU of the Asus G50VT laptop nearly 24/7 for years now. The X9100 CPU stays at 90-104 Celsius, GPU stays a bit below 90 C. No problems. Helps to run the 17 fin forcecon fan the is present in the G51vx, g51j laptops.

Word has been going around that it is because Optimus doesn't have 3D support somehow and that is what prevents it. Though I wonder why we can't just disable 3D and run optimus if we want to.

I like to see asus Do a pc repair kit..power supply tester...post it card and data cables and software. Lot of people here post help how do I get data off old laptop or desktop drive..is it my mb or power supply that gone bad.
You feel sorry for guy buys a 300 mb but a 30 power supply and the power supply is dead but person has no way of testing it. Post it cards or debug card help now most mb have no speaker and only few led for debug.

I love what you said here, and I would like to see video cards that exhaust all the hot air out the back of the case, instead of pushing it around the inside of the case with the cooler fan.

It would be nice if Asus introduced a line of video cards that are advertised as handling heat this way.

Are there any plans for implementing the non blower based designs on a larger scale?

Any chance I could be updated on this, other than having to wait for newer model cards to hit store shelves?

Hey there friends!

Evening is coming for the ASUS folks on the West Coast, and Erik tells me they do let them sleep occasionally - so there'll be a pause in the answers coming until morning, with perhaps a few exceptions for Raja who is based in the UK who may stick around for a bit. Please keep up great questions!

<Extremely trivial question>
What happened to those M&Ms on the ROG page teasing us about what was coming for Haswell?

I'm looking forward to seeing the answer to this. I have always wondered of the strengths/weaknesses offered by ASUS sound cards and hope to hear about them in the response.

Hi, I do not like 16x10 tablets all that much and prefer 4x3 (9.7") so that I can view a A4 or letter size page in full and as big as possible. My question is: Will I ever see a 4x3 tablet from a major brand such as Asus? Is it really true that certain fruit brand manufacturer will sue other major brand who makes a 9.7" tablet? Or I will have to settle for one from "Shanzhai" brands? (Sad note: I bought a 9.7" "Retina display" Shanzhai Android tablet last Saturday and it proves to be a major disapointment!)

A couple things I want to know is the "real" weight and thickness for the "G750JH" model, because it is obviously thicker and heavier than the JW and JX? (Asus website says the same W+T.) ;)

Also, based on the extra thickness does it have easy clean filters (for fans) and is it more user upgrade-able?

And some design questions for the G series notebooks: Why not ditch the blu-ray drive and make the heat-sink fins copper? (To add bigger quieter fans and make the notebook thinner + lighter.) (for the top model) $3,000-3,500

Thanks. :)

" I can comment on the fact we will support "upcoming CPUs" on our X79 motherboards fully."

When Intel releases the Ivy Bridge-E processor and says it can be used in the current LGA 2011 socket, will your support that your referring to be a bios update, to enable the new CPU to be used in the current LGA 2011 socket ?

Does the G750JH-T4080H have a 3d Monitor?
And is there a better (more upgraded) Version of the JH or is JH-T4080H allready the top Model?

i just dont want to order an Model without all the features the g750 has to offer...

Thank you for the reply, but for question 5, I know that board wasn't the ROG Gene series because it was way before Gene ever existed. It was a board that prevents users from physically stealing your keyboard and mouse while at lan parties. It's like some hardware lock or something.

Hi Asus, Thanks for taking questions. I have two.

1. I really like the transformer book form factor, but the current transformer book lacks a USB on the tablet, and is lacking a digitizer. Can you tell me why these weren't included?

2. I also saw the next generation transformer book with haswell at computex. can you tell me if that product is scheduled for release or if it is just a possible future product.

would really love a transformer book 13.3 inch screen, Haswell I7, HD 5000 graphics, usb port on tablet, active digitizer (stylus to be stored in slot in tablet), 256gb SSD, true stereo speakers, 2 LBS or less, 0.6 inches thick or less, under $2000 us.

Just a dream I know, but worth a shot while you are listening

Do your FM2 motherboards support AMD Surroundview? I can never seem to find documentation on the feature.

I would really appreciate knowing if they do, because I need to know whether I'm building an AM3 or FM2.

Does Asus plan to expand there product line? I would be interested in ASUS PSUs, RAM, SSDs and Water-cooling Loops.

Second question: What does the Asus Maximus Vi Extreme (1150 Socket) have that makes it a better choice than competing boards? Are there any particularly unique features?

What you said.
Also, I guess I'll repost my question even though it was post#1 in the thread but didn't get answered;
Why does the Asus G750 laptop have a soldered CPU when your competitors do not (4700HQ rather than the 4700MQ)? Don't tell me it's to save weight, your laptop is heavier than the MSI. The 17" MSI has a 9 cell battery weighing 8.6 pounds and the G750 with the 8 cell battery weighs 9.9 pounds.
I don't think it was a good engineering decision. It doesn't attract the computer enthusiasts and I don't see what purpose these limitations have. People like the option of upgrading to an Extreme CPU later on when they get cheaper.
The way it is, for business/non GPU instructions, it is no better than a regular consumer laptop with a 4700MQ. A gaming laptop that can't get an extreme CPU is kind of lame..
Otherwise the laptop is nice though.
Can you give me reasoning why Asus made this decision?

Thank you
