Specs:
Case: Thermaltake core v21
I5 6600K
ASRock Z170M Pro4s
Crucial Ballistix 2x8 2400Mhz
EVGA Supernova Nex 650W
+fans
+ EVGA 980 ti, not installed at this time

Connected to monitor via hdmi

It turns on and the fans run just fine, the 980 ti's light turns on too when I previously tested that. I've tried running it both inside and outside the case. Neither time it worked. I've cleared the CMOS and tried both sticks in every slot individually. I've made sure the power supply cords are plugged in properly, still nothing.

Is it just a bad motherboard? I replaced the one I had yesterday with the same issue. If it is, can anyone recommend a mobo about the same price?

"Anything else to try ?" Yes, try with a monitor. The tv might not support low resolutions. After installing Windows and graphics drivers, you can use a tv.

Thanks for the reply. I've got hold of an old monitor, suitable cable on order, I'll report back.

BTW, from the motherboard specs, it's not obvious what speaker will work if I need further troubleshooting. Any pointers on finding the right one?

Cheers

So... funny story 🙁

Browsing the ASRock forums, I realised I hadn't connected the ATX 12v power connector (top-left corner of the board). Now it's connected, and working fine.

I'm going to leave this here, as both a mark of my shame and in case someone else finds it useful.

Thanks very much for the patient help.

Glad you posted this. I did the same thing. Freaked out at first then plugged in the ATX 12V and the computer starting working just fine. It was a slight pain to connect because I had the Cryorig H7 in there.

Same motherboard. Pentium G4560 and 8gb ddr4 Corsair online one RAM stick. Everything, is well connected.

No output, no video, no display, no beeps.

Without RAM, 3 beeps. What to do? I thing I got the latest board with updated BIOS for 7th gen cup.
Please help.
