So I'm planning to buy some new parts for my slowly aging PC. I've initially chosen to go with the;
ASRock's RX 7900 XTX Phantom GPU which has the Polychrome Sync RGB.
For motherboard I've chosen the ROG STRIX B650E-E GAMING which itself uses AMD's Aura Sync RGB controller. However on the GPU it mentions it has an external 3-pin 5 volt ARGB header.
Looking at ASRock's website it mentions the following;

"ARGB Pin-header
More ARGB, More Fancy.
With the ARGB pin-header, it can connect ARGB strips/devices to make the lighting effects more rich and vivid." - ASRock - RX 7900 XTX Phantom

Based on this description, it sounds like it's only meant to control other devices from this header, and not be controlled by it, itself.
Based on a picture of the header from the same place I can also see that it's a male connector.
I've contacted ASRock's support regarding this question as well and I'm currently awaiting their response.
But just in case I would like to hear if anyone has any idea of whether or not this might work.
And if not, what alternatives I have to sync my GPU lighting to my Motherboards.

I just found out thanks to this gentlemans video;
YouTube - TechLens
That plugging the GPU's ARGB header into the motherboards will not only kill your connector, but also potentially the entire motherboard itself.
Insane that something this important isn't mentioned anywhere else.
Thank god I didn't have to find that out on my own. Thanks TechLens!

From my understanding is that this RGB header in the gpu is to connect a rgb strip led strip in the gpu and control both (GPU RGB / LED RGB) with the poly chrome sync
correct ?

Yes that's correct. This was also confirmed by ASRock themselves when they replied to my initial email regarding this topic.
So with my rx 6950 xt phantom gaming i can connect the DEEPCOOL ARGB 200 PRO MOTHERBOARD CONTROLLED ADDRESSABLE RGB LED STRIP
And control then with the poly chrome sync?

I just simply install/ connect the deepcool strip in the gpu header( and only there) and control both with poly sync without involve the motherboard or connect anything on the mobo.
Sorry if im repetitive but my gpu is my most expensive pc part.
Deepcool led strip:

As I understand it yes, the ARGB header on the GPU itself is made to control other devices such as LED strips with Polychrome Sync. As long as you don't connect the GPU ARGB header to the motherboard directly, there should be no issue. But if you're concerned you should contact ASRock about this yourself to get it confirmed.
