Asus P5LD2 with EN8800 GT Compatibility Question

Hi, I have an Asus P5LD2 DDR2 motherboard, and I'm thinking about getting an Asus GeForce 8800 GT (the model is EN8800GT 512 MB) that, nevertheless, is on DDR3. Am I likely to encounter problems, incompatibilities or fry either motherboard or graphics card when I put them together?

Should work fine. Your 8800GT is PCIE 2.0 capable (greater bandwith capable with later MB's offering PCIE 2.0). Even so, there is no incompatibility. System RAM and video RAM type have nothing to do with the two being compatible or not. Install away.
