Hi guys i have an older system with a core i5 2500 but i wanted to upgrade to something more like an i5 3570 or a i7 3770 just to be a little more future proof for certain games i play and originally i was thinking of building a new system with a i5 7500 but the prices here in Canada is a little expensive (mainly costing me 800$ without a GPU because i have a 1050 Ti right now and not planning on changing anytime soon) and right now my Bios reads out as version 0303 which i have also contacted Asus but it didn't help because i tried out every bios they have.

I have taken 2 screen shots trying to use the Asus updater program that originally came with my motherboard which will show you that the bios wont really be accepted and also if i might be downloading the right bios because of my other screenshot

Also please note that i have also tried to update from the bios screen as well which gave me error messages which i have no idea what to do now because i know with the bios i have in my system i would not be able to use a 3rd gen i core series which to be honest i am having high hopes on at least getting a i7 3770.

Solution
We all failed to notice your motherboard is the first release; not R2.0 or newer. I figured it out because BIOS version 0303 matches the version for the first release of that motherboard.

Version 4601 is for the P8H61-M-LE, not the P8H61-M-LE/CSM that you have. You can download the correct BIOS for your motherboard from https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/P8H61-M%20LECSM/HelpDesk_Download/ Version 4501 will work.
Why are you trying to load a .ROM file? I have no idea what that is but I don't think its the BIOS. The Bios should be in a .CAP file. You can get it in the link below. It might need to be renamed something, look in your manual. I personally always update the BIOS in the BIOS.

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LE/ This is actually the model i am using to be more specific which on their update page which i have downloaded all the bios versions are all .ROM and not .CAP.

You mean like changing the .ROM to .CAP and also is it common for a Asus boards to have the bios manufacturer from American Megatrends?

You can't flash the P8H61-M LE BIOS on a P8H61-M LE/CSM; fortunately the code prevents you from making that mistake.

Download the correct BIOS from the link provided by Dunlop0078; you don't need to load them all; just get the latest one (Version 1414).

Every ASUS board I have owned uses an American Megatrends BIOS. Like GhislainG said, according to your asus software you have a Asus P8H61-M LE/CSM mobo, you cant use the ROM BIOS for the P8H61-M LE with your board. Use the CAP file in my link.

No just the name of the file, not the extension. Like I said this info is in your manual.

Ok i tried out what he suggested and i went in my Bios with the .CAP update but the file was not even showing at all and yes my pen drive that i put it in is Fat32 so is there a way of converting it to to a .ROM because really it doesn't show any files that is .CAP.
Also my Bios for when i go for flashing the Bios is EZ Flash 2 and would like to also mention that my Bios looks like this

So is there a way to convert it over at all?

The one suggested to me when i look at the update files for the Bios is all .CAP and where i was told where to go from Asus to get my updates are all .ROM but when i try to update my Bios i get the error message from the Windows app "The model of the bios image doesn't match the bios rom currently present" and when i try doing it straight from the bios i get another error which i forgot what it was called again and those errors are from the .ROM files which you are able to see from the image i have posted so i would like to see if you might have a better solution than Dunlop0078 because really i want to update it so i could start to use 3rd gen i7's.

Ok so i went on this site instead https://driverscollection.com/?H=P8H61-M%20LE/CSM&By=ASUS&SS=BIOS&dpage=4 and found out that 3605 was the one i needed but the funny thing is everything on page 4 and 5 is what my motherboard needed because if you look here on this image this is how i actually figured it out.

PS. if i tried to update it to lets say 4601 it still gives me the error which i think at the time of my board my bios chip might be an older one that the Asus site no longer provides because on that site on page 1 you will see "ASUS P8H61-M LE/CSM BIOS v.4601" but really it gives this results after when trying it out.
