Hi.

Specs: i5-3470, 8 gb memory, asus p8-h61 mx usb 3, 500w psu, samsung 840 ssd, windows 8.1

I recently bought an Asus r7 260x to replace my zotac gts 450.

Since the switch, whenever i play WoW or any other full screen game, and i press alt-tab. Screen goes black, sounds still play from game, but the system becomes unresponsive, cant speak on teamspeak, neither i hear anything, cant press ctrl alt del until i hard reset.

Sometimes on loading screen there are line flickering.

The alt tab problem does not occure while i play on windowed mode full screen.

Tried different drivers, from amd official, and asus official site. both had the same problem.
Even tried older drivers. Same.

oh and the system does not shut down. windows says shutting down. monitor turns off, but the pc is still on until i hard power off it.

Any idea ? I went back to the store with it, they said there is a one week investigation time.

Sorry i missclicked best answer button.

My solution was to take back the card to the retailer, and i asked for a refound. I ended up buying a GTX 660 for a few bucks more. ( MSI N660 Gaming ).

I guess these video cards memory are overclocked and the memory modules overheat, because they dont have any cooling board.

Try to buy cooling pads for them or take back to the retailer. Its a fucking disaster.
Well, i got a radeon 4870 for test, az soon as i trigered the graphics from low to medium, my pc shut down, and the motherboard said it received a power surge. so i guess now that my psu is not enough.

the r7 260x has lower power consumption, but a little voltage fluctuation could make it freeze.

I got a new Cooler Master Elite Power 600 w PSU.
Asked my card back.

The freeze ups still occure with the new psu too.

Tomorrow i will do a rollback on win 8.1 to default. If that doesnt work, i reinstall a windows 7.

If that doesnt work either. I take my card back to the retailer, but that will take another week for them to investigate it....

Im not sure if its normal, but at start up, the CPU fan needs a few seconds to wind up. I mean i can see the fan moving for 2 times and stop like its stuck, but then it starts normal, maybe the motherboard is dieing ? Its not even a year old.

if your retailer fix it, tell me
i played dota 2 and i have it too http://prntscr.com/2r4jq5

I have the same problem as yours . The flickering screen , sometimes a long-cross line appeared , something like "chess board" also appeared . I don't what else to do . I did uninstall the driver and update to the updated one . And it seems to be same ! If you dont mind , if you did solved these kind of problems , please let me know . And if you suggest to get me a new graphic card replacement , I will do so =( . I bought it very expensive , 2 months saving =( .
