I have had a hard time deciding between these two laptops so i would like to know which is better (from where i will buy them, they have the exact same price)

Asus, easily. Better processor, DDR4 ram, bigger screen. But it has higher power consumption, if you're like me and keep it plugged in all the time, i'd go for asus, but MSI has a 30-40min longer battery life if on heavy loads, and 2 hours longer on light.

Asus is the better deal here. It gives you a bigger screen with better processor.

If you do just care about the Spec only, as you mentioned, ASUS has better processor and RAM indeed.
however, if you compare the spec in the same level with Core i7, should be different.
I have a GE laptop, I have a great experience with it. -- from the features --
there is no overheating issue when i am playing the game; and for me, it is light and thin.
I especially love the steelseries, which can change my keyboard color i want.
