Hi,
I'm considering replacing my current laptop, which is an ASUS TUF Gaming F15 with an i5-11400H processor, 24GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX3060 graphics card. I mainly use it for 3D projects, animations, and occasional gaming. However, I'm not entirely satisfied with it as it tends to overheat quite a bit, and its performance is insufficient for more complex tasks.
So, my question is, would it be worth selling it and pay extra 1000 or 1500 € to get something better with an RTX4080? When I compared my current graphics card to the 4070, there wasn't a drastic difference in performance considering the price. Currently, I use the laptop as my primary computer, and I wanted a powerful laptop for work since I travel a lot and I'm often away for 2-4 months throughout the year.
On the other hand, I'm also wondering if it would be better to keep this laptop, increase my budget, and buy a desktop for around 2500 euro. I could endure working on a lower-performing system for those few months in a year. I'm not sure if investing in a laptop is cost-effective at all, but if it is, I would appreciate advice on what would be suitable.
Thanks
