Case & PSU bundle: Corsair Carbide Series 400R + CORSAIR Gaming Series GS700 = $190
Memory & Acronis bundle: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) + Acronis True Image Home 2012 OEM = $85**

Required adapter for above cooler: COOLER MASTER RR-ACCY-2011-R1 Intel LGA2011 Retention Bracket for Hyper 212 EVO = $5

**I am tired of people that don't backup stuff. Way uncool!

Grand Total = $1570

The hard drive fiasco hurt my ability to keep the build under $1,500, and it wouldn't be cool to use a GPU less than the Nvidia 560 Ti with this CPU.

However, you could save $20 dropping to the GS600 PSU.

10.DVD Burner: LG DVD Burner 24X $18.99

this was fun to figure out. i tried to put quality in the power supply and the ssd it was rather tough including a pc and power psu and a corsair 120gb ssd but i made it work hell i might even buy this for me... and i tried to factor combo deals as much as possible for most bang for the buck and it seemed to have worked well.. and you can easly add another 550 ti to this system down the road.

and you get as a bonus a antivirus and malwarebytes wich i feel are really mandatory in this day and age.

and as for the coolest with the high flow pc case and the h60 cooler (supports 2011) i feel that this one is a real winner for coolest pc and a absolute steal @ a Grand Total: $1,497.64

NOT including rebates or tax and shipping.

thanks tom for letting me have a bit of fun.

and i really do want to win... :bounce:

Zelos' Chilled Big Blue Build

A computer build that primarily focuses on keeping the computer cool, both aesthetically and thermally. An aftermarket VGA cooler by Arctic Cooling and liquid CPU cooler by Corsair frosted together with Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal compound keep the Intel i7 processor and ASUS GeForce GTX 550 Ti as cold as cold gets. Big Blue runs with a swift ASUS DVD burner, Intel 320 Series SSD and two of Corsair’s chilly blue 4GB Vengances for a slick, snappy performance. All of this put together by ASUS Sabertooth X79 motherboard, housed within Corsair Carbide Series 400R gaming case and powered by Corsair 600W Gaming Series PSU.

Nothing gets closer to sub-zero.

This PC is centered around performance and pricing. The Quad channel memory combined with the Power of AMD graphics and Intel CPS all come together on the Sabertooth X79 by ASUS. Although the case may not be the coolest looking this pc is about speed not looks. The Hyper 212 Evo keeps the CPU more that cool for those long gaming runs.

After much debate with myself along with a little re-vamp in some places (after placing a AMD develop initially oops.)

This is actually the build I'll use.

It took me a few days to find some spare time to put together this build but it's better late than never. I hope it raises some eyebrows at Asus and good luck to everyone who enters.

Final Thoughts:
What a great idea put forth by Asus, not only did I have fun building a new machine (which I cannot afford at the moment unfortantly) but it also highlighted some great deals that are currently on the web. I know I picked up the OCZ SSD even though my wife doesn't know it yet 😀 Also I'd like to point out that the ASUS GTX460 is still an awesome card, I know because I happen to own one. See you on the Battlefield.

I wanted to do something cool with this build so I decided to go with the two 550 Ti's. This way my computer can play any game I throw at it. Also, Compared to the 6950 they run much cooler (about 10 degres even after overclock). Since these cards expel their hot air into the case and not out the back I added two case fans to mount on the side to keep the cards cool. I chose the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Cooler because it is the third best cooler (according to http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm) and had the best price value for this build. Also, to keep the ram cooled I also got a ram fan. To case it all I went with the Rosewill Challenger since it won The 2010 recomended buy and with the 5 fans total it will expell all hot air and keep all of my components nice and cool. Finally my build looks cool with everything having blue LED's. I took out the DVD burner so i could upgrade on the power supply in hopes to overclock. Besides, you can download everything online now instead of getting a disk copy. Also, I skimped out on my HDD since upgrading wouldn't be hard in the future. So there you have it! My triple cool system :)
