Question Asus z390-e crashing once a day after Bios Update

Hey!

My computer has been crashing for 3 days in a row.

Specifications:
Motherboard: ROG Strix Z390-E, BIOS (v.1502)
PSU: Corsair HX750, Model number: SKU CP-9020137 , not sure of the amps.
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 super gaming OC white 8G
CPU: i7-9700K 3.60GHz, unparked, overclocked to 4.9GHz
RAM: Vengeance LPX C16 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz black, no overclock
Vengeance LPX C16 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz white, no overclock
Operating System: Windows 10 Version 1909
M.2: Intel 660p
Monitor: AGON AOC AG352UCG6 3440x1440 @ 120Hz with G-sync enabled
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 400C (around 2017 model)


The first day, everything froze, the mouse didn't move and the image on the screen was frozen. The PC stayed on and didn't reboot.
On the second day, I updated my Z390-E bios version to 1502, as well installed the latest Intel ME from asus's website: version 1952.14.0.1470.
Then later in the day it crashed again, everything froze, the PC didn't turn off. I re-updated my bios, and Intel ME.

Today it crashed again, twice in a row, but this time I got two blue screens with a restart:
"Machine_Check_Exception" was first.

It then booted back up, I logged in, and then it crashed again with this blue screen:

I'm not too sure what to do at this point. My bios is using XMP II, set @4.9GHz with all cores synced (it has been smooth for 1 year).
I recently upgraded to an M.2 ssd a few months ago, but has been smooth until now.
Interesting the crashes happened around the same time on different days, 22:19 and 22:24.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why do you have intel GPU drivers as well as Nvidia?

the 2nd error, Intel(R) System Usage Report Service was what crashed but not the cause. Just curious as a Machine Check Exception is a hardware error called by CPU but not necessarily caused by it.
Are you running AI Suite? Asio.sys can be used to change hardware values so could be cause.

What should I do with SurSvc.exe?
Should I remove RTCore64.sys? And how do I do that, today I used a tool named "DriverStore Explorer" to remove old and duplicate drivers. I use MSI afterburner for GPU overclock, I did a few benchmark tests today with 3DMark but nothing crashed and got a decent score.


Yes, I have the latest bios version for the z390-e (v.1502) which I downloaded before those crashes, and installed latest intel chipset (v. 10.1.18383) yesterday.

Hey Colif, I appreciate you taking the time to looking into this.

I saw your comment on another post and followed your steps. When doing the safe mode fit, it said it fixed some corrupted errors. I did a Memtest86, and got 0 errors.

Should I remove pwdrvio.sys and mi2c.sys?
I used a tool today called "DriverStore Explorer" to remove old and duplicate drivers. Is there a better tool to get an overview of all my drivers and remove selected ones?

I can remove the intel GPU drives, the issue of freezing happened before I had them installed. I installed them, as when I updated my motherboard firmware to v.1502, it would get stuck on a VGA issue and thought it might help to have them, as I disconnected the power on my GPU and plugged DisplayPort cable into MB socket to allow the system to boot.
In my bios I have default display set to PCI-e.

I don't run AI suite on when my PC is on, I just used it to configure chassis fan speeds, as it saves the settings in the Bios I believe, but never have it opened or running when my PC is on.

I use MSI afterburner for GPU overclock, I did a few benchmark tests today with 3DMark but nothing crashed and got a decent score. I use RivaTunerStatisticsServe to limit my monitor's frame rate to 114hz (120hz g-sync monitor).
Should I remove the 4.9hz CPU overclock and sync all cores option in my bios? All other setting are default/auto, and has worked well for the last year.

SurSvc.exe is the Intel(R) System Usage Report Service that Colif mentioned above. Leave it alone for now, it's likely not the problem.

I would remove all overclocks for now. It's part of getting a stable system. Overclocks are often the source of BSODs, even if you pass a stress test. After your system is stable and we've determined the problem, then you can add the OC's back into the mix.

I also have a power on issue for around 2 months now. Not sure if it is related.

Alright. I've reset all my bios settings to default, with minor fan changes. I've disabled GPU OC's. I've also updated my intel chipset from this Asus forum post. I'll let you know if the issue persists!

So far it seems fine. Although with all the default bios settings, it sets my CPU to 4.9ghz, which it also was before haha.

Although I still have the persisting issue of my PC not turning on sometimes when I press the ON power button. Here is some more detail about it.
