Athlon 5150 or Celeron g1820 - Home media server

Hi everyone!

I am looking for the best solution for a home media server/box. It will be running a cloud and used as a living room media box. Just to be clear being a cloud server it will be running 24/7.

Can you please suggest which CPU is better Athlon x4 5150 or Celeron g1820. They will cost roughly the same amount (mobo and all).

i would say pick the 5150 it needs about 50% power which means lower temperatures and it will work for more time but for power don't think it's any better let me check

I do agree with you on all of the points. Except, I read somewhere that 5150 struggles with 4k video. And being a media server/box, wouldn't make more sense to go "future proof" and get 1820?
