Question Help with CPU temp ?

I need some advice.

Ever since COD:BO6 released a patch with a bug that caused system crashes (which has since been fixed), my CPU has been giving me an "Overheating" warning every time I restart my PC.

I've checked everything—I'm running a liquid cooler on my CPU, and as far as I can tell, it's functioning properly. I monitor my temps using Core Temp, and even during gaming, the CPU doesn’t overheat after tweaking my power settings. I switched to the Power Saver plan, adjusted Processor Power Management, and set the "Maximum Processor State" to 97%.

Despite this, the error still pops up. I read that I should check fan speeds in the BIOS, so I did—but I don’t really understand what I’m looking at.

Can someone help me figure this out?

Hey there,

Please list your full PC specs, including PSU, Case, fans and their orientation (or just post a pic).

Your bios is over 4 years old. I'd prob start there to rule out the issue being bios related.

Also, make sure all of your system drivers are up to date, including chipset.

What temps do your CPU hit when gaming or at load?

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

As for your current state of affairs, you have BIOS updates pending;

flash to the latest version, clear the CMOS and then see if the issue persists.

The cooler is a Corsair. I'm not sure which one, as someone else build my PC that I no longer have contact with.
The Power supply is Corsair RM850
I have 3 fans at the top of the case (XL case) and 3 at the front and one in the back that's part of the liquid cooler.

Is it risky to update the BIOS? Everything else is up-to-date.
