anyone have any info or speculation on when athlon 64 's will hit 3.0ghz (actual operating frequency)

(also, am i right to conclude from the semi-sketchy info i've been able to find that the 4000+ is currently the fastest being sold?)

The fastest AMD64 CPU available is the FX-55, a Clawhammer core running at 2.6 GHz with 1 MB of L2 cache.

I'm not sure if/when the new Venice/San Diego cores will be released at that speed or higher.

With the move to dual-core chips the likelihood of AMD releasing a 3.0 GHz chip seems fairly remote to me.

FX-57 is supposed to hit the streets soon...I think it's San Diego core, but not sure.
