ATI Tool and video card question

I built a new system and i put a x1900xt in it. I started lookin at it and in my catalyst ati overdrive section area it said my current vpu clock was at 500 and my current memory clokc was at 594. I knew these numbers were low and i saw something that said ATI will never underclock the card below stock settings. So i hit the unlock thing and Im not giong to turn it off becaues those settings look right. Now i cant lock it? What'd I do? I dont think i like this catalsyt stuff 🙁. Is my card running slow?

Nope! In desktop mode, the frequencies are 500/594(1200approx). In 3d games that require higher frequencies, the card will go to 650/1550?

When you unlock the overdrive function, nothing will be able to lock it again (maybe a registry tweak?) and only reinstalling the drivers after uninstall will make it locked again.

if it has the feature in there then why wouldnt it just come unlocked? what does it meen if its locked or unlocked, i didnt hurt anything like a warrenty did i? i wont dare touch those sliders.

The lock/unlock feature only serves as a button to cause a pop-up which says that ATi can't be held responisble for any blady blah blah... 😀

From what I've gathered, Overdrive doesn't cause a breach of warantee, and seeing that it's an ATI feature built into their drivers, without making any mention of warantees being voided, I'd recon you are pretty safe..

thakns alot thats whta i was tihnking. if its built in and it has no warning they would have to be pretty dumb if it did.
