I'm having issues with rocket league and my game randomly stuttering where both audio and input cuts out for a split second. It has been happening frequently on my desktop, so I decided to use my laptop for a tournament instead today but still got some stutters (though not as many). I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this?
I am aware that my computer is decently old with the exception of a few parts. That being said I hadn't had issues running RL before, and I only experience these stutters in RL. Every other game/program runs perfectly fine and exactly as expected, and music/videos on my second monitor do not lose sound. The issues are only happening in Rocket League.
I don't think it's the overclock on my cpu/gpu that is causing it, especially since I just upgraded my power supply from 550W to 750W to make absolutely sure everything is getting enough power and for when I upgrade in the future.
I've also reinstalled several times, reinstalled windows several times, and also checked the integrity of game files.
pc specs:
Gigabyte PA55-UD3R
i7 860 (overclocked to 3.82ghz w/ about 1.56V. Still stutters when I lower to 3.36ghz. Turbo boost is off)
2x8 g.skill ripjaws x (1333 or 1600, don't remember exactly)
Gigabyte 1070ti (120% power in afterburner)
The installation drive didn't seem to affect my stutters but I have a 500GB Samsung 850 SSD and a 240GB old Seagate HDD.
Laptop is an HP Omen 17 with the RX580.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
