Automatic Updates Doesn't Work

After I installed SP2 Automatic Updates will not work. Every time I go to
the link for downloading automatic updates, it says its searching for the
latest update software but never goes anywhere beyond that. I've tried
uninstalling SP2 and it still doesn't work. Anyone have any idea how to fix
this?
