Hi guys,
I have a poor PC, this one:
- AMD Sempron 3100+ which Speedfan tells its running at 50-52º with my current OC
- MSI k8 Neo3
- Geforce FX5200
- 768 MB of RAM
- Running XP
My bios is really bad, it allows me to change the clock and multiplier, but, as soon as I change the clock a bit, it doesn't boot well and gets stucked in that phase, so I need to do a clear-cmos.
So, the alternative I'm using is ClockGen to overclock the CPU, which is 1,8Ghz stock and 2,0 right now. Its known that I can get more performance from it, but after 2,1 Ghz, I get sometimes BSODs, and if I put the clock to 2,3, it gets frozen and rare stuff, so I have to restart the PC.
What can I do? Maybe thats the top of my processor, is it?
edit: Well, I've been doing some tests, and I got the conclusion that, the BSOD are because any "security" system of the bios or something (could this be true?)
The why: Its not a temp issue, because when I put 2.35 Ghz, it automatically reseted itself (with a BSOD), and when I put it at 2.3, it restarted after a minute, but I checked in Speedfan and the temp has increased a little bit (2-3º)...
There must be a way to disable that thing which is limiting me
