Bad Graphic chipset????

Hello. I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv7-1245dx, I'll explain my problem and then if someome would please help me. The screen wont turn on, I can hear the fans and the computer running but I have no image. I connected an external monitor but nothing. I know is not the screen inverter because if it was I would have image on a external monitor, right??Would someone please help me???? :{

There must be some trouble in the motherboard. BIOS or circuit. If you can fix, take the warranty and go to customer service.

When you tried the external monitor, did you remember to turn it on? Usually done by pressing Fn and F4, though other key combos are possible.

I've had the laptop more than a year. Its not under warranty anymore. Do you think I should replace the motherboard. That should fix it, right?
