[citation][nom]VidGameKing[/nom]Aw shoot!!!! It's 32-Bit!!! What a load of garbage! I'm getting my free copy on the 7th with my "house party" pack, but now I see it's only 32-Bit! How's that supposed to make me like Windows 7? I've got 4GB of RAM!!!!! Good thing I've got my MSDN account to fall back on... (I've already got the retail windows 7 Ultimate running on my computer!)[/citation]

using 64bit with only 4 gigs of ram is almost not even worth it.. in fact i wouldnt even bother with less then 6. if you actualy had a decent ammount of ram i could see your frustration.

A Lanparty would be a perfect place, loads of PCs, loads of installations of RTM or RC, loads of photos of the event and Bob's yer free copy of Win 7 for something I was doing anyway.

[citation][nom]manjyomethunder[/nom]... So you want him to SIT THERE FOR HOURS ON END SIGNING HIS NAME?And 4000 doesn't put a DENT in it.[/citation]

Steve Ballmer stuggles to sit down and concentrate for 10 seconds, let alone hours on end...

[citation][nom]Renegade_Warrior[/nom]Not really, but I do suppose he could spend at least one work day signing as many as possible. You figure he could get at least between 2000 - 4000 signed in a single day.[/citation]

Heck, if I'd knew he would have worked overtime to sign them, I'd throw a win7 party myself!

Joking aside, a good idea would have been to have like 100 copies really signed by the man, and give them as prizes to the best party goers or something.

If you don't need the 32 bit version, will you give it to me? 😀

Sad sad sadly under informed peeps.

The key you get for a legal version of Vista or Win7 works on both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the Operating System software.

Meaning if you have received a full license by attending a conference or something similar and you throw the disc + key into the bin just because you think it's 32 bit.....well you were ill informed.

Your loss.

I think it's a cool initiative for people to get their hands on win7 for free, however I'm unclear on whether everyone gets a free copy using the party pack license... or whether it's restricted to just the host of the party somehow.

I'm curious too, but I;m just going to say fuck it and go pick it up at the end of this month (or maybe later pending pay) for $300 CAD or whatever Ulti will be locally.

Take a look at what you get in the party pack.

Yes - you get both 32 and 64 bit. So all you whiny spolied bitches that complained about receiving 'only 32-bit' can shutup now. I can't stand people who just complain to complain. If you dont like the 32-bit disk they gave you, use it as a coaster or something, but don't complain. Maybe shove it up your ass if your into that sort of thing.

Anyways, enjoy the vid. If you have read this far, sorry about my rant, but it needed to be said. 🙂

I have a bbq at the new house almost every weekend with a few good friends.. So calling my bbq on Oct 24th a "Windows 7 Release Party" and getting a free legit copy of Windows 7 Ultimate seemed too good to pass up.. Mine should be here tomorrow..

The host gets it so they can check it out, and demonstrate new things, like peek, shake and snap, and other cool things it does now.
I'm disabled, and I don't get to do many enjoyable things like have a party. So this is will be a great change for me.

Peek, like peek at internet packets? Shake, like the kids do with Christmas packages? Snap, like Balmer does just before the chairs [allegedly] fly?

Yeah, if the price was the same or if it was for free then why not. I just don't see the point to getting a PRINTED version of his autograph while some people can find or meet him and get his real autograph on a copy of Win7. Its just too gimmicky. Im sure the product itself is well worth it as I am waiting for the right PC parts to come out to build a new Win7 PC but my Vista PC is still a mini monster so I will wait.

OS's shouldnt need to be changed for 10 years at least until the older OS is truly obsolete and hard to comply with newer software and hardware. But since both XP and Vista still have its uses and Vista being the mainstreme now I dont see why we need to get Win7. Just because Vista was bloated and a bit slower Microsoft could have just repaired the OS and updated its drivers/service packs. I guess WIN7 is really a rename in essence.

Got my pack today, hosts receive a black paper sleeved DVD case containing Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit Signature Edition and 1 x CD Key (Would have been nice to get the full retail case).

You also get a plain old white cardboard DVD sleeved Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit Signature Edition, 1 x pack of playing cards, 10 x carrier bags, 1 x pack of napkins and 1 x poster.

I just got my package and there is in fact 2 seperate discs 32 and 64 bit so uninformed idiots can now know the truth.

I signed up to host a Win 7 Launch party, sent out 10 email invites to my friends within a couple house of the prompt and then 2 weeks later i got the 'you have been selected' email. I recieved my Win 7 Host pack about 4 days ago and have already activated my Living Room Home Theater PC with my 'Ballmer Edition' of 7 Ultimate. I did it for the free shwag, tho i have been a Beta Tester of win 7 since day 1. My Party is ADULT/ BYOB etc... not a standard nerd media fare...

Still the Puzzle is cool, and the Totes are kinda funky... not bad for free

i have the same thing!! i will sale and trade!! email babjnr@gmail.com
