Hey, everyone! I have an ASUS K55A-SX096R bought it about 8 years ago... I know it is crazy that how could the battery survive on 8 years? But, look, i was having some problems that windows says that a battery is not present and the battery indicator lights is off and was not charging i checked the battery contacts but, it isn't clogged nor have dirt but this happened after i drained the battery... Now, i could only power on the laptop with the charger but without the charger, (obviously) it turns off... So how would i solve a problem like that. Maybe perform an EC reset? Yea i don't know....

Solution
Well, is there any way to fix it?
No. Batteries die/degrade after time and usage. There are safety features built into laptops, once a battery gets to a certain point the laptop will stop charging it. Charging a battery that is very degraded becomes dangerous. You have been very lucky to get 8 years out of a laptop battery.
