You have to get it from their Origin service for the PC, no thanks EA. It looks great, as long as I don't have to join EA's Origin service to play the retail box or some other draconian DRM scheme I will be buying it. If not I will stick with BF2.

[citation][nom]cats_paw[/nom]Second, 64 bit system (what is that even better for?)[/citation]

On 32bit systems, BF3 can only address 3GB of memory. On 64bit Windows 7 it can address 4GB. (A lot more if it's a proper 64bit application.)
Will BF3 use all that memory? I doubt it.

Purpose written x86-64 applications should also run faster because they can use twice as many registers that are also double the size.
It's very unlikely however that they'll actually make a 64bit version of their game.

I like the DVD-ROM drive tacked on at the end of the requirements... I wonder how many people will actually be buying a hard copy.

I like having the pysical copy of a game so I'll be one getting a hard copy.

I played the Alpha trial and my system specs are as follows...

AMD 945 Phenom II x4
MSI 890fx-gd65 mobo
8GB DDR3 ram
MSI GeForce GTX470 TwinFrozrII
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD (OS)

Game ran flawless!! everything maxed out resolution at 1900x1200

[citation][nom]haxs101[/nom]6950, damn. Highest specs i've ever seen.Hope my gtx 570 sli will work good lol.[/citation]

If a game doesn't play well on a single monitor setup when using 570 SLI then something is definitely wrong and/or the game is that badly optimized you shouldn't even bother just out of spite.

I was in the alpha too ...you realize all the settings were the exact same? All you could change was the resolution....Low Medium and Enthuiast settings all were the same, no aa or af .....it was an alpha you were not testing system reqs.

[citation][nom]bender3000[/nom]Looks like I'll be forced to get this on the console. Thanks EA.[/citation]

Buy the actually copy then, or if you are a PC gamer complaining about system specs and your console out performs your computer thats just sad. 🙁

Actually, I am a PC gamer that refuses to upgrade my 1gb ATI 4950 gfx card, and/or deal with the usual multitude of bugs that accompanies an initial release of a BF title .

1. You not retiring your 4950 for whatever reason is on you its not the games fault you don't want to upgrade your video card.
2. Bugs on a new release will be cross platform this is what patches are for, and yes there are bugs/patchs on 360 and PS3.

[citation][nom]ojas[/nom]What i find strange is... they say that a GTX 560 (non-Ti) is the recommended Nvidia GPU while the 6950 is the recommended AMD/ATI gpu. Unless it's some sort of mistake, it seems that the engine will hugely favour Nvidia's architecture (like HAWX 2). I mean, a 560 is essentially an overclocked 460, right? That's like mid range card vs a high end one...i know it's a TWIMTBP title...but the contrast...[/citation]

dude, it's not a TWITMTBP title, but a Gaming Evolved title more so, because, the engine supports more AMD tech than Nvidia tech

I'm not at all surprised they are pushing the limits of computers. It's about time someone does. Battlefield 2 took an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ @ 2.4 Ghz and dual 6800GT's to run at 60+ fps on 64 player maps and they were 300.00 each at the time.javascript: void(0);

I know there were no other settings. I was just trying to say I was at max resolution. Even with DX11 enhancements,AA, AF , I still have confidence in my current setup. If I can play Crysis 2 with DX11, high res textures and all other graphics settings at max, I think I will be just fine with BF3!

i bet we're not going to see TWIMTBP or AMD Evolved on the splash screen just like BFBC2 was. the game seems have more AMD tech but so far the game dev have more close relation with nvidia than AMD. people start questioning if this game will favoring more on nvidia architecture from the official recommended gpu needed to run this game

I am sure some of you people not getting the game cause of origin will make a huge dent in the community OH NOES ROFL! GET REAL!
