I live in China, (not chinese) and i also know that it's a silly action, but every kind of decision which is made by government is not silly (my own opinion). I Just got my Ultra gaming RIG two days ago, i wanted to give BF4 a try, but it seems that i am out of luck! I don't like it anyway! :D

It's not the cultural sensitivity, but rather the fact that the chinese government doesn't like everyone depicting them as a warmongering country when in reality they are very peaceful.

wtf is wrong with all these people calling china a socialist country, and then drawing parallels between china and Obama, calling him socialist too.
1. china is totalitarian, not truly communist and DEFINATELY not socialist
2. here in the Netherlands Obama would still be considered far right....
your view on politics has been distorted by hundreds of years of far-right conservative governments.

The Chinese government needs to get a sense of humor... Maybe they should make a game about the US controlling the world with co-conspirator Company's across the nation... Oh wait China and US already do that

They should release a new expansion where there is a rogue element in china that developed a new weapon which censors everything that people like, and it is up to a 64 person (full server) co-op to fight against the censorship using all of the technology, the future has to offer.

I am sure that will get china to reconsider the banning of the game as they will have a decent length co-op campaign that is dedicated to them.

I feel awkward writing this, but its true: LOL!!!

My favorite part is how so many people are turning a simple ban of a game into "Potential Chinese Revolution" or "This is why socialist countries fail" or "Stupid Americans".

I wonder how the USA would take it if there was a multi-million copy video game, that was made in China, called something like "Battlefield 4: USA Falling" that took place in the streets of New York, with building falling, and crazy US soldiers laying siege to the city...

A threat to national security? Really? Don't they have anything better to do than ban games?

@Morbus It's not a stupid country. They have a right to enjoy everything as human beings. They are incredibly hard workers. By the way, did you check were most of your computer was made? China. Maybe you don't care but please be kind enough to speak for your self because you don't have the right to speak on behalf of anyone else.

not to sound pessimistic......but i kinda knew that this was eventually going to happen after i started playing campaign mode........i frankly feel quite bad for the people who have spent so much money buying bf4 standard or the premium edition which is definitely not going to be refunded.....

Now that's what i call funny. Did Russia complain about BF3 and Battlefield Bad Company 2? No?
Silly China, the BF4 is already a huge fail, a unfinished game, with lots of bugs, super bad netcode and so on... And China Rising only had like 1 good map to begin with...
Poor China people, im too far from China to help them with P2P...

Good for you China. EA stole my money with his half-baked game and SimCity. Don't let them steal from you too. If a publisher wants to paint an Evil picture of a country and that country takes offense to it - then its their right to remove it.

For all you ignorant yahooo's out there. Just because a country doesn't have the same political structure as the US (where the wealthy decide policy through lobbying), doesn't mean socialist countries are 'evil and backward'. Look at Iraq, what a great example of democracy and liberty that country is now.....(epic sarcasm)

As far as I am concerned the US is a borderline Police State - whistle blowers and journalists prosecuted, illegal wars for oil started, US citizens personal privacy totally breached and complete disregard for their own Constitution written by their forefathers.

EVERYONE!!!! Knock off the off topic political posts and BS rants that don't belong here. This isn't a political website, this is a tech forum. Let's keep it civil here. If you want to argue politics on this forum go to the News & Leisure section, but let's keep it off the comments section, OK?

There are a couple of issues - first of all, I don't approve of using actual countries in a war game. It's treats serious issues as trivial ones.

Having said that, China also doesn't like the idea that people can chat within the game un monitored. For example, they can go to an empty server, and have a secure chat line.

China doesn't like that.

Issue two, no one is talking but EA had a major DOS or other internet attack, that I wouldn't not be surprised one iota came from China.

China is not our friend. We are not pals or allies. And we should not be running fantasy simulations of blowing up their cities.
