Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking for a GPU that can competently run 3D modelling programs like CLO 3D and Browzwear VStitcher. I'm very new to 3D modelling and have had trouble finding much hardware performance information for the modelling programs i want to run. I would like to be able to work on a larger (~30") monitor in 4k but that isnt a necessity and will depend on how much i spend over my GPU budget. I am hesitant to buy Nvidia due to their higher price tag compared to AMD and the current Starfield promotion seems like a good reason to go AMD. I play games on my pc but rarely AAA titles or anything too graphically demanding. I have a preferred budget of ~$500 AUD but can spend a bit more if it is really necessary.

My current build is:

Motherboard: ASUS Z170 Deluxe
CPU: Intel i7 - 6700k
RAM: 2 x Corsair vengeance 8GB DDR4 (i dont remember the MHz but i think it was around 5k)
GPU: R7 260X
PSU: Corsair 850w

Thanks in advance for your replies and please don't hesitate to ask for more info.

You need one of the RTX cards (not a AMD card) because that program uses Cude cores for GPU acceleration.
32GB of memory could help along with working on a SSD.

ARC 770 16gb pc case gear $559 in stock

6750xt in $589aud stock pc case gear and you get the starfield bonus ..

problem is Nvidia is a better buy for rendering than AMD and the intel looks slightly better than the AMD range

I actually hadnt even considered the Intel cards but they actually seem to be pretty good cards, especially with the newer drivers.

I guess what is really holding me back from getting an Nvidia card is wondering whether or not i will actually need CUDA acceleration for CLO and Vstitcher. There just isn't any available info on how different GPU's actually run. Does it make a huge difference in programs like Blender or Maya?

Also totally agree with the increase in RAM and SSD, i'm going to build an entirely new rig in November with the Black Friday sales.

Ive got the ARC770 16gb and im impressed with it mind you i dont use it often and never for rendering 3d modeling ..

I like my AMD cards but i game really thats it

So is the ARC770 16gb better than a 3060 12gb for your purpose i really dont know gaming yes 3d modeling and rendering probably no !!

Update for those reading. I went out and bought the cheapest 3060 12gb i could find ($429 at Mwave).

Thanks to you both for your help.

I might post At some point in the future regarding GPU performance in the actual programs!

a 3060 12gb at the very least ??
