I've been looking for a monitor and have more or less narrowed it down to these two. The former is led, tn panel and 1ms response time. The latter has ips panel, lcd and 5ms response time. I don't really play fps games that much so I'm wandering whether I would benefit from the shorter response time of the benQ or the (apparently) better image quality from the ips panel of the aoc.
Any other suggestions would also be appreciated. My budget is £150 max.

The BenQ is a typical 60Hz TN with some useless "gaming" gimmicks. As a general rule, there is no reason to buy a TN monitor if it does not support 144Hz and a G/F-Sync tech or/and back-light strobbing for motion blur reduction.

So your best bet in this budget is a flicker-free delay-free IPS monitor. I suggest the Dell S2415H.

Its main advantage compared to the other similar monitors is its glossy coating that makes the picture clearer and the colors more vibrant.

Basically it comes down to this; A monitor made for competitve FPS such as CS:GO and Battlefield or a monitor that has amazing colors and games will look better and more realistic/colorful. Since you don't play FPS I would buy the AOC :)
