I'm looking for a good 2560x1440 monitor to game with. Max budget of 400 bucks, but I'd like to spend as little as possible. If there's some monitors even for 500 bucks you can list those even though I probably wouldn't get it, but please list some under $400 as well. Thanks.
I bought an Asus PB278Q a few days ago, and it's beautiful, but it's $430. If you can't go over $400 at all, I guess you should get the Acer K272HULbmiidp, which is $350. Just use pcpartpicker.com if you want the best deals on the exact product you want, that's where I found these two monitors.
Yeah, I was looking at both. What are the advantages of the ASUS over the Acer? I see it has a little bit better response time, but do you know how well you can overclock the refresh rate on each? Like which is better at overclocking? Also do you play any games on yours, and are images stretched out, etc.?
From what I can tell most reviews seem to say that the Asus one has better color reproduction, and has less ghosting which is very important in gaming. If you want to read up on their differences this thread summarizes the points very well, but just in general build quality, the asus one is better, plus it has VESA mounts and the panel is only semi-glossy I'm pretty sure, so there won't be as much of a reflection in the panel as the Acer one. At least that's what it looks like when I look at my moniotr, I'm having trouble finding out if it's matte or semi-glossy, but I don't think it's glossy.
