Best Build for Art/Gaming (Best for Graphics/Speed performance)

I am a physically challenged girl attempting to build a high end gaming/graphics comp for fun (since I am not able to get out much). I am more of an artist than a tech, so I am going to need a little help figuring out what I need to do this. I have been researching what I may need to build it to my standards of performance. This is what I have come up with, so far...

COOLER MASTER HAF X Blue Edition RC-942-KKN3 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case with Black Interior and Four Blue LED Fans-1x 140mm rear fan, 1x 200mm top fan, 1x 200mm side fan, and 1x 230mm front fan (I already purchased this, figuring that would be the best place to start.)

I am going to be getting an Ivy Bridge i7 processor (but, I think, I will be waiting for the Extreme Edition to come out before I order it .)

Also on my list to get is :

ASUS Maximus V EXTREME LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RSC00-80GAD3-US 1200W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A2400C10

Pioneer Black 12X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 10X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Internal BD/DVD/CD Writer BDR-207DBKS

But (not being a tech) I am not sure all of these things are compatible so I thought I should check with those who are less technically challenged how it all sounds.

Also, what graphics card(s) would you suggest and if I have left anything off the list PLEASE let me know.

Oh, and, really, quality is the only issue. I want the highest quality for the fairest price of course but price is not going to be an issue for me. And, also, I do realize being a girl and physically challenged it may sound a little odd that I am trying to build my own computer but a friend of mine challenged me to do it and so I am just trying to live up to the challenge because that's just the kind of girl I am. :)

CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A2400C10

These things are major overkill. You'll never need to use 1200W, and Cooler Master PSUs have terrible reliability ratings. You'll most likely never use all the features of the Maximus V, and the Dominator RAM is way overrated and not worth the premiums being charged.

Also, what graphics card(s) would you suggest and if I have left anything off the list PLEASE let me know.

If you post the budget I can suggest a system.

Well knowing a budget would help but here's a good quality system for high end gaming. You don't want to spend all your money on the motherboard and CPU - the Dominator RAM is overrated and extremely expensive. You don't want to pay the premiums on it.

Try something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($214.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B SE2 37.9 CFM CPU Cooler ($59.98 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($87.55 @ Newegg)
Memory: Mushkin Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($40.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F4 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card ($449.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Switch 810 (White) ATX Full Tower Case ($179.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W 80 PLUS Silver Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($15.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1469.42
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Then add whatever monitor / keyboard / mouse you want and you're good to go.

You can't generalize on builds like that when people come here looking for specifics. That's what PC Part Picker is for and in depth reviews will give you a better perspective of parts than guessing will.
