Hello everyone,

I am preparing to buy components for my Threadripper build, and I'm quite in doubt regarding which case would be most suitable for the system. I am almost sure it's gonna be a water cooling system, so this aspect is important.

Finally I was thinking on NZXT Phantom 820 or BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900. Which one do you suggest, and why? (or maybe you have another better recommendations)

The Ethoo Luxe and the Ethoo Pro M are essentially the same case. The Luxe has some LED lighting and is made with some higher end components. If you are on a budget, go with the Pro. If you have some room in your budget, go with the Luxe.

Since you are building a threadripper system, the difference of $50-$100 in a case is around 2% of the cost of the system. I would get a nice case to put that type of system into. It would be like getting an expensive luxury car, but not having AC installed.
I have a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe tempered glass and I love the case.

Everything in the case can be removed making it very water cooling friendly, and even has a 5.5 bay because I am not ready to part ways with the blu ray drive. It can easily run a 360mm push/pull setup on the top with room for radiators in the front and bottom.

It also have a nice PSU cover that keeps everything out of view.

It comes with SSD mounts, since I don't use HDDs, I removed the cages for better air flow and I can mount my SSD on the side plate if you want them to be in view or there are additional mounting points on the back of the case.

It is not a bad price either for a higher end case. Threadripper would suit it very well.

^ I have the normal windowed version of that case and it's one of the best available for WC support, but the Dark Base 900 is also a superb case.
It'll really depend on which part/s you want to watercool, either Enthoo or Dark Base will easily handle a AIO CPU cooler but if you want to WC the CPU/GPU you'll need to spend some time on planning the overall loop before going to 'add to basket' for either enclosure.

Do you want a BD/DVD drive bay?

PCPARTPICKER is great at filtering out...

1) 5.25" external (means DVD/BD drive support)
2) USB3

*I'll post this, but there's a case I saw you may like but I have to hunt down the detail. It was tempered glass, but did a great job of hiding the PSU and HDD drive trays at the bottom.

*I guess there is a "tempered glass" variant and it's FULL glass, but the "Enthoo Pro M" itself is just partial see-through.

If you like that much transparency you may like this case. Note that the bottom PSU and HDD tray is hidden.

*If I had to choose one of these it would be the Enthoo Pro M (with only the partial window). I like the idea of a little bling but can't stand seeing too much into the case.

I am not very interested in having tempered glass, although it would be nice to have it. Most important to me is airflow, space and cooling efficiency (btw I am not 100% sure it's gonna be WC, if there will be some very efficient air coolers, maybe I'll opt for one).

Anyway, Corsair 900d seems too expensive, cosmos 2 too large ( not really sure about quality, some complain about fan control, and I don't know about water cooling support), but I am still thinking about it.

Looking on the reviews, I've seen that both Phantom 820 and Dark Base Pro are very appreciated, but I didn't find a direct comparison.
