your motherboard supports the 7700K and 6700k,but it would be a waste of money to get a K model, since your mobo doesnt have a Z chipset (like Z170 or Z270),so it means it cant be overclocked, and K models of intel cpu's are bought specifically for that, overclocking.Intel i5-7500
EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 SSC 6GB
ASUS PRIME B250M-A Motherboard (Socket 1151/B250/DDR4/S-ATA 600/Micro ATX)
16GB RAM
Corsair H100i CPU cooler
Corsair 750D Carbide Full tower case.
ASUS Prime Z370-A II LGA1151 (Intel 8th and 9th Gen) ATX DDR4 DP HDMI DVI M.2 USB 3.1 Gigabit LAN USB 3.1 Motherboard- Blackwhat the motherboard?
Thanks but i9 9900K I've heard terrible things about the cooling. What sort of temps do the others you mentioned get to?well your mobo supports up to i9 9900K which is around 450$.
If you dont have the money for 9900k,i would go for i5 9600K which is 200$.Its a beast of a cpu and it can be overclocked. It will be a good upgrade from your i5 7500.There is also a i5 9600KF version, but i honestly dont know what that F means in terms of performance upgrade
The temperature of the cpu only gets high if you either have a weak cooler or to little thermal paste. Thanks but i9 9900K I've heard terrible things about the cooling. What sort of temps do the others you mentioned get to?
I should have worded myself better. I have a ASUS PRIME B250M-A Motherboard (Socket 1151/B250/DDR4/S-ATA 600/Micro ATX) - Black which does support it, also the other moboWait a minute...
You're asking about an upgrade from an i5-7500, but say the ASUS Prime Z370-A II as your motherboard?
The latter doesn't natively support the former...
Intel i5-7500ohhh...
Im sorry,but i got confused.
@Phaaze88 is right, you could not put that cpu in a z370 board.I think you meant ASUS Prime Z270-A.That board supports up to i7 7700K which is a apsolute beast of a cpu.It will be a huge upgrade from your i5 7500.Its around 350$.I7 6700K is also a pretty awesome option,at the pricepoint of around 300$.I dont really see any other worthy options that can be a replacement for your i5 7500.What are your full PC specs?

Thank you, I will take a look, another question; do you think my cooler it's capable of keeping it cool?your motherboard supports the 7700K and 6700k,but it would be a waste of money to get a K model, since your mobo doesnt have a Z chipset (like Z170 or Z270),so it means it cant be overclocked, and K models of intel cpu's are bought specifically for that, overclocking.
Just get a i7 7700 or 6700 and you are good to go
For Z370 best would be i9 9900k. But it's a power hungry beast.ASUS Prime Z370-A II
For B250 max you can get is i7 7700(k).I have a ASUS PRIME B250M-A
H110i is more than capable of cooling high end intel cpusThank you, I will take a look, another question; do you think my cooler it's capable of keeping it cool?
What sort of temps are we looking at? 40-60 ish while gaming say?H110i is more than capable of cooling high end intel cpus
For 7700K with H110i,i would expect as much as 60C max, that is for a non-overclocked 7700KWhat sort of temps are we looking at? 40-60 ish while gaming say?
So for a 7700 you're saying max 60C not over clocked?For 7700K with H110i,i would expect as much as 60C max,that is for a non-overclocked 7700K
For a heavily overclocked one i would except as much as 70-75C which is still good.Anything over 80-85C is a bit worrying
yeah around 60C yeah.Could be lower thoughSo for a 7700 you're saying max 60C not over clocked?
