[SOLVED] Best cpu Gtx 1070ti

I have a kit of ddr4 ram at 2400mhz, and I’m not really willing to upgrade it to 3200mhz as I just got it. I have a Gtx 1070ti and I’m wondering what cpu to go with for pure gaming. I’m using a 144hz 1080p monitor aswell with the intention to upgrade to 1440p in the future. I had a ryzen 1400 with a Gtx 1060, I then upgraded to a Gtx 1070ti and I was hitting a pretty heavy bottleneck, my motherboard then died on me and I’ve sold the 1400 so now I have around 360$ for a new cpu and motherboard. I’m thinking between a i5 8400 and a ryzen 1600x as the 1600x is on sale for about £125 on amazon ( about 160$ ) and the 8400 is going for around £200, I would also consider anything above the 1600x that is worth paying extra for. I’m also aware that ryzen performs better with higher speed ram and that the 8400 is on par or exceeds all ryzen processors in this price range ( for gaming ) but I just wanted to see if paying extra for the 8400 was worth it.
