Hi my name is Kryssen
I am looking for a not too expensive graphics card so I can animate my short films and cartoons. I mainly work with 2D hand-drawn aniamtions, but I'd like to work with 3D animations as well.

I am aware that graphics cards have risen in price lately and it's not a good time to buy them, but unfortunately my newly built computer keeps crashing, and I'm certain the reason is the graphics card, it's an "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 ". It is the only part from my old computer. I even changed out the thermal paste which only helped a little, but did not prevent it from crashing.

Could I get some suggestions for good graphics cards I can purchase for my animation computer?

Budget: Around $300 - $400

Solution
I am not particularly confident in that PSU you have. I also would not put a high power GPU in it, unless you replaced the PSU. It may be fine, but Adata seems to be pretty hit and miss. A GTX 1060/1650 should be fine though. You CPU and RAM is definitely capable of keeping up with a GPU like those, or more powerful. You could get something like a 2070 Super, and your CPU should still be capable of keeping up with it just fine. The two limits here are your budget, and your PSU. If you do not want to replace the PSU, you will need a lower draw GPU, like the ones you listed above. A more powerful GPU will need a better PSU, and obviously will cost quite a bit more overall.

You could try and get a 3060 for MSRP but that's difficult. Maybe like a 1060 or 1650 super on ebay for around that price.

The 1650 super beats the 1060 by a little so I would snag it for $330. Also a less chance it has been mined because 1060 was popular in the first mining boom so it should last longer and its newer.

That RTX2080ti will be the best and most powerful option by far. However, I do not expect its final sale price once the auction is over to be anywhere near what it is right now. Your current PSU is also probably to weak to support it. What are the rest of your system specs?

Here are the specs for my current computer, all of the parts were purchased based on feedback I received from this forum.(Just to show I do take suggestions seriously.)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz
RAM: 32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable)
Power Supply: ADATA XPG PYLON 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Motherboard: ASRock B560M PRO4 LGA 1200 Intel B560 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Thank you for the suggestion. I have a few more questions, if that's alright.

Is the one with 2 fans better than the one with a single fan?
And is it safe to by a GPU even if its used?
