Time to wait for the next gen from both. 1440P is the sweet spot. 4K on the PC is an expensive bragger's rights, computer room heater.

My thoughts exactly. I bought a 960 last year and realized I made a mistake. I should have gone a bit higher and will wait until next gen to do it. I'm biased towards nvidia though, so hopefully the next 970-equivalent will be the step up I need. I'm under 1440p (1080p ultrawide), but hoping to change that too.

im kinda with you on that except I did sell my 960 and went to a 970
im hoping the new x70 card has the same performance on 1440 as the 970 does at 1080

I'd rather bottom out with a GT740 than a GT730, although even the 750Ti can be found for around $100 now. Otherwise, it might make more sense to rely on Intel's IGP in a better processor, then save some money to make a stronger card your first upgrade.

Hi, so where Radeon R9 Nano comes in? Seems to me great pick? And higher street prices than MSRP seems to show it is in great demand to.
So what is your opinion?

Yeah, totally agree. I think with the cards being discussed, it can all be summed up pretty well here: http://i.imgur.com/UsjpwH8.jpg

In non-gaming usage, 4K really shines. See http://tiamat.tsotech.com/4k-is-for-programmers

The Sapphire Fury X price is wrong it's not $1261.25 it's $669.59, that must be for a crossfireX setup but it doesn't say so. You must have the right case to corssfireX 2 fury x since each come with their own radiator. I think it would be more helpful to gamers wanting to do that if there was an air cooled version, wait the Fury Nano that's right.

Anyone ever toy with the idea of Xfire Fury Nanos?

Seem like it would deliver good 4k performance and just the other day I saw those cards going for $460.

I have xfire Fury Nano's with EK Waterblocks on them in my custom loop. Overclocked I get Fury X performance easy, but honestly, the Fury X can OC higher. I have them and a 6700k in a micro-ATX case, and I'm really loving it. Maxes every game out at 4k. With DX12 I'll be running 8GB of HBM, which is just insane. at 4k there's no question the Fury X / OC Nano wreck the 980 Ti. my GF's PC is running a 980 Ti and it maxes out 1440p, but not with a ton of headroom. 4k puts it over the edge.

Love the info, thanks guys! The only thing I feel is not talked about very much is folks who run more than one monitor. When you're talking about spending $1200 I think one may be in the boat to have a multi monitor setup that I for one would love to know what' s best in these video card roundups.

Instead of two expensive Geforce GTX 980 Ti's, you could just use two $500 R9 Nano's. At least $200 less, and more efficient. The waste heat problem would be taken care of.
