GTS 250 is still a better buy than a 4850... It's slightly faster and scales much better in SLI than the 4850 does in xfire. That matters because when the GTS 250 goes out of production (soon if it hasn't already) it will be fairly easy to buy a cheap used one... Some decent muscle for little cash.

I am glad nvidia is competing. AMD is still slow at dropping their prices.. Only the 5770 is worth the purchase right now.. I hope to see the 5850 at under 240 and the 5870 at around 300.
Also the GTX460 768mb can be found on newegg for around 170-180. For that price I am heading more towards that card since AMD/ATi's next best card is almost 100 more... The 5850.

which to buy : 470 gtx or 5870 ?
I wonder should nvidia Physix be taken into account ?. some say that it's an old feature and had no use any more. In addition lack of physix for ATI can be fulfilled by harder render and of course more burden on your CPU !

GTX 460 1GB - my new 'great buy, will still be powerful 3 years from now' card to replace the awesome 8800GTOC (which was still running this-years games on high settings, fairly well too).

Hey guys question. I am with 4870x2 atm and well I really have no problems with it. However. When I used to have all on ultra with any games ... I started to see some game I have to put on high to play on my 60 FPS ...Is it time to upgrade to 5970 or I should wait to AMD 6xxx card to come out because I'll not get that much of a performance upgrade anyway ? BTW any ETA on AMD 6K cards ? Thanks !

Not trying to be nit picky but several models of the gtx 460 768mb was 169.99 on newegg the weekend before the september graphics card article no rebate required and still is today not 175.

Also in my opinion for $340 two of those cards should make the recomended list as they battle and most times will beat the gtx 480 (much less the honorable mention list). You don't need the 1gb versions to do that unless going at the 2560x1600 resolution.
