I'm looking to build a new machine and have decided to go with an ASUS P4S533 with a 2.5 GHz P4 (socket 478).

Any suggestions on a good heatsink and fan for this? I plan on gradually playing around with overclocking to enhance performance, so I'd like a cooling solution that will allow me to push the system without becoming too complicated (I don't really want to get into water cooling, etc.). I'm also interested in a solution that is more quiet than a jet engine (aren't we all?) - thought some of the folks here might be able to give some advice.

Thanks!

Try a Thermaltake Volcano 7+. It has 3 manual speed settings for the 70mm fan depending on what you want to do. It will fit a socket A and Intel 476. The heatsink is made of copper. I have 3 of them. One on a 2200+, 1700+, 1200+. I noticed about a 15 to 20 degrees "F" difference from factory HS and fan under load. I have seen then ranging in price from 35 to 40 dollars. Good luck. I hope this helps.

Hang in there. It can only get better!
