Does anyone know hat is the best LGA 771 Xeon?

We are doing an experiment and I know LGA 771 CPU's are cheap so can someone help me?

It is a dual CPU board.

Solution
If overclocking, lower FSB makes overclocking easier, because boards often max out before the CPUs do with high FSB chips.

There's a performance difference, but it's not huge.
I would suggest not going with 771. Core 2 era cpus are about to get to the point where they go directly to the trash. The 1366 xeons are very cheap as well and the dell t3500 has been quite a favorite. You'd spend more trying to get components separately.

it looks like the best one is a Xeon X5492 but they are 100$ each.

The Xeon X5460 is cheap so I might go for that. I know they produce lots of heat but I g ot a good cooler on it.

Do you think 2 of these will work good with a GTX 1060?

But if can overclock to 4Ghz it will help alot in games.

Those two games are very light on your CPU, but even so you'll not be able to stay consistently above 60fps, regardless of your video card. It's a lot to expect of a CPU that's ~8+ years old and little more than the cost of fast food for two.

The X5460 will draw a lot of power and generate a lot of heat as well, since 150W it's too high. You can get the E5410 and overclock it to gain better performance and still it won't draw and generate that much power and heat.

I ran this as a daily for the past 9 years: X5460 CPU with pin mod for LGA775 board with P45 chipset. DDR3 1600 RAM 4x4GB. FSB overclocked to 400. CPU ran at 3.8GHz, 60 degrees, playing GTA5 smoothly on max settings, with an RX470 overclocked to 1320Ghz. Just a couple of things to remember. P45 chipset on your motherboard. Extra cooling fan on your Northbridge. Keep an eye on the 12volt 4 pin CPU power plug next to the CPU because my first board melted the plug after6 years of overclocking use. CPU never died. I just upgraded now to use Windows 11. I wanted to play directX12 games. there is nothing wrong with a good 775 board and an X5460 CPU with 16Gb of RAM and a GPU from around 2017. There are so many games you can play! Aliexpress has everything you need.
GG 😉
