(Don't be knocking the lack of an SSD. We know they don't benefit gaming machines much if at all. Storage space is a much larger consideration.)

Thoughts:
I wanted a solid build for 4k resolution gaming featuring all high quality components. Reference style SLI GTX 980's are a no brainer for this application. Love the case, and the high quality power supply.

Edit: Derp links are supposed to be to amazon directly. I'm not going to have time to fix that, and I picked the wrong hdd anyway, so this one is out.

Some info on the build:

Since this is a Gaming Build I wanted to focus on looks as well performance and with some great space themed games coming out this year I wanted to incorporate that into this build. Came up with the name Trie (Triple rear ion engine) Fighter since the case look like it belongs on the set of one of the star wars movies imo. Since the case isn't standard I tried my best to make sure all parts were compatible I did want to put a 120mm deepcool cooler in the case as well as a dedicated SSD but using amazon that would of put the build over budget. Anyway hope you guys like the build!

I kind of enjoy the Red and Black theme. This would be a great 1080P/1440P gaming machine (with room for future SLI) while looking classy, just like San Diego.

RE: price fluctuations

Word from on high is that as long as the initial build is within the price limits, they're fine. No need to make people update it constantly. Don't worry about what the actual final costs come out to be, so long as it is acceptable at the time of posting. Bound to cause some confusion, but less of a hassle.

Keep in mind though:

•Use list prices only: coupons, rebates, bundles or any other limited-time offers will not be accepted.

Also, this does not address magically disappearing inventory that is no longer available through Amazon. Still waiting for clarification on that one.

2$ under..

I do like the case but for $686 you could buy a lower end 3D printer, some Lexan and build a Imperial Cruiser, Borg Cube or whatever case you can dream up.
