hello ive just built my new PC and i was wondering either to get a gtx 960 or a r9 380 and i found out that it out performs the 960 on my most played games.games. Ive been searching and there are no reviews on which make is the best

If anybody knows the best r9 380 for around £160-£215

Any Help would be appreciated.

The 380 is the way to go! Avoid the already-aging 770, the R9 380 is also already prepared for DX12.
And as for the brand, go for the Sapphire Nitro or MSI (Choose whichever is cheaper).

(P.S. Sorry for my bad grammar, Im an asian.... So am I excused?? 😛)

I have the Sapphire Nitro running now
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Nitro-Graphics-PCI-E-GDDR5/dp/B00YXSL3YW/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445460713&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=r9+380+saphire
The Nitro is a good card but for some reason my fan settings aren't working properly and I have to open Trixxx to sort them out almost every time, the MSI card is a good card and there isn't much in-between, I would go for the Saphhire Ntros Pro again though it has been outstanding so far.

My friend has the GTX 960 and we compare specs a lot cause he looks down on AMD 😛 the Nitros Pro is OC'd and has a higher clock speed than the 960 but the 960 has better performance over all and the drivers for the 380 aren't as good if I was buying again I would probably go for a GTX 960

The core clock is less than my 380 and the memory clock is not that far ahead and it also has less cores.

yes & due to the magic of maxwell its also more powerful & more efficient.
the 770 was stronger than the old 280x,the 380 is weaker than the old 280x

Sorry to say but the g1 gaming r9 380 outperforms the 770 by alot in higher qualities in games like bf4,AW,FC4

You sound pretty patriotic to the 770, and less accepting to do some research.

Not really mate, dont even own one - always owned amd cards, still do,but have a 970 in my other rig.

Merely stating that at a 150 quid budget that 4gb 770 is plainly a better buy,the 380 as a rehash of the old 285 did not impress me on its release & unless on offer is not at a good pricepoint.
You would not notice the difference in performance between the 2 cards imo, theyll both pretty much do a straight 60fps at the same settings ( high) .

Irregardless ,a budget between 160-215 doesnt make sense imo - theres little to differentiate between models performance wise, people have their favourite manufacturers.
Choice would be on the best value surely & at that upper end of that budget there are numerous better cards available than the 380 & the 780 I linked is plainly one of them.
