Hah, the fanboy comment WAS directed at you initially as a joke. Thanks for trying to keep the peace here  .

I don't mind people throwing intelligent arguments out there, but I get pissed when people are squawking about how much better one LCD is than another when they can't even spell out the general components of an LCD. If you can't spell the word panel, how can I take your advice on panels?

I mean, it's like me trying to argue with somebody about the X86 architecture and being like "well, there are sum fundamintal flawws about the x84 artchitechture. I read some of the mateeerial you gave me, and found some stuff that says that I'm right, but I don't remember whare." and expecting people to take me seriously. That might be enough to make some people shy away from X86, but I need some hard evidence.

guess its a good thing for everyone in the forums spelling doesnt have any thing to do with how smart you are. But thanx for pointing out that piontless info.

Depends on what metrics you use for judging intelligence, and what kind of intelligence you are referring to. The point could be made that you can't judge a person's intelligence by their math skills, but at the same time, people with low math skills are probably not going to be optimal software engineers.

People who can't spell aren't the best communicators. So, they might have great ideas, but nobody will take them seriously if they can't effectively communicate those ideas.

To me, it sounds like you bought a Samsung 244t, so now you have to do whatever it takes to convince yourself that was a good choice.

Ok since you broke it down that does make alot of sense i was only speaking in general as i thought you were.

If the monitor came to me and was garbage i wouldnt have hesitated to throw around some emails make some calls and so on 😉

But i dont rate a persons general intelligence on spelling or not being able to do advanced math 😱

Hell people think if you cant spell you cant read to which is obsurde in its self. In the end of grade school i had a college level comprahention but obviously i cant spell worth crap.

I just tire of people who say someone isnt worth listening to because of grammar, sentance structure (allthought it makes it hard to read) spelling and whatever else (aside from the p34pl3 wh0 t4lk l1k3 th1s they really get on my nerves D: . Some people are better at other things then others. i couldnt write a book but i dont have that problem when it comes to other areas.

I dunno whatever I'm sure you were reffering to me but if you werent i doubt his ability to spell has much effect on what his opinion or how much he knows about hardware.

Holy crap... I think I'm going to tear up here

BTW, I live in Portland as well. Anyway, I'm glad we could reach some sort of agreement here. You're the shit, EnFoRceR. It was good arguing with you!

Okay, I'm not trying to take sides here, but Enforcer, your grammar is some of the worst I've seen on this forum... not the absolute worst, but up there. However, I know grammar and spelling doesn't really matter (I'm a farking engineer, I haven't taken an English classes in years) but being able to effectively communicate is an important thing...

Anyways, I don't even know where this convo is going anymore... I'm sure both of you buy things because it performs well, not for the sake of buying it. So you're both right.

And Oregan blows, Texas FTW

I have no problem comminicating unless it has to do with writing XD and texas blows just as much as oregon but hell at least we have clean water and air 😀

Do you mind if i ask what part of portland your in? Im on the west side 😱

Anyways alot of my problem with typeing is im vary dislexic so while im typing my mind is spitting it out faster then im typing which is most of the reason a sentance will be missing some key words as i was typing this i was the first sentance i tried to leave out at least 4 words. It really sux :-/

William Faulkner: The Sound and the Fury... thats what comes up to mind when I read your writing. Which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you like that book (If you don't understand, don't worry about it... I didn't really like that book nor understand it much myself... but you remind me of one of the chars in there since his thoughts just sorta go on and on...)

Psh, we have BBQ, lots of land, and cowgirls down here. What do ya'll have... trees? 😀

no idea what your talking about 😛

we have the same thing as you only we actualy have a wild life 😀

I could do with out the coyboy/cowgirl thing though not into that.

but you remind me of one of the chars in there since his thoughts just sorta go on and on...)

Gotta love ADHD brain on over drive can do that to a person 😱

We can actually go swimming outside... and we don't have to worry about temps dropping below 40 degrees...

However, hurricane's pwn us... but blizzards pwn ya'll

We dont actualy in this area get snow. I cant even remember the last time i even saw it. Last blizzard i can remember when back in the 80's where it was -16 cuz a low front wouldnt move off the top of portland. other then that snow is pretty rare around here.

Only thing you really have to get use to here is rain over 300 days a year :-/

Normaly it doesnt go below 60 aside a couple months in the winter. Course i like it around 65. It does get pretty hot here for like a month XD but i dont really swim so yeah.

Heh, does it flood much over there? Probably not... it rained really hard down here a while back, and all the streets flooded. They had to airlift a couple of people off the top of their cars because the water got so high...

Good ol Houston.

Actualy i remember it use to flood every year in hte downtown area. Most of this area is sea level or really close. But i dont remember any real fluds in the past years. Back when i was in middle school i remember my whole city was pretty much under water (beaverton a sub of portland) Of course then i thought it was rpetty cool i doubt i would now.

I should mention it never really even in the worst floods we have had got over about 3 to 5 feet and i seriously dont even think it got that high.

I use the Dell 2407WFP and I love it. No ghosting or streaking. Great response time. I play BF2142, CS:S, FEAR etc... no problems to report!

Hey whats this monitor talk is this a hardware forum or something? we are tlaking about where we live here! if you want to talk about hardware please take your self to a hardware forum! geez.

Yeah this is not the place for people who actually have a life, only geek talk allowed 😛

Well after reading this thread, i've learned a few things first and most important is that i should get rid of my dell 2407wfp(due to input lag) and get a CRT so i can become the ultimate killing machine in games, Im great now imagine when i go back to CRT's.......i'd be..............Well...............UNSTOPPABLE.Dont even want to mention if i got a killer nic card.
But I do have to say no ghosting at all , the only thing is with BF2142 it seems like it has banding issues? its the only game it happens in otherwise am happy I would by it again. By the way I got it new from Ebay. I heard alot of things about ben q , would like to see one in action.

If your DELL 2407WFP is revision A02 or lower then you'll see some banding, rev A03 fixed that problem, I can testify.

There is agood article on the Killer NIC here -> http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=2865

I just got the BenQ 24".

It is incredibly crisp, even through the analog input and has HDMI for future use (at a price premium).

Viewing HDTV in ATI Theater mode through DVI actually works (had trouble on other monitors) and it looks as fantastic as larger, $4000, 1080p LCD TVs. Hardly any noticeable ghosting on 60fps video (sports).

I live in NE.

This is one of those insane threads that was totally derailed. We never need to start a new thread again! We can just use this one from now on 😀.

BTW, if you care about your spelling you should download Firefox 2. It has built-in spell checker on forms (why didn't anybody think of that sooner?). If you don't care, that's cool too.

I love Oregon! At least we don't pollute everything we touch and steal water from other states... unlike SOME states I know! 😛

AH HAH! i have spell check on everything else i guess it would probably be a good idea to get it in my browser to XD

We dont steal water we sell it to the worthless states that cant manage thiers or palute the hell out of it 😀 Oregon is a really nice state if you into things other then super high priced everything sales tax's super high cost of living which i guess oregon has a kinda high one but not like most states.

NE gangsta 😱 btw you ever gone to yam yams? that place owns.

Yam Yams? Never been.

tmac, what do you mean it inserts a black frame in between frames? Due to pixel response time wouldn't that look like crap?
