Big problem with MSN Messenger (HELP NEEDED PLEASE)

Okay. Now here's the problem:

For a few months now, I have had to use trillian because i have been having
problems with MSN messenger (all versions). What is happening is that
whenver I open MSN, sign on, and try to chat with someone, after i type the
message in and hit 'ENTER' it will take anywhere from 3 to 20 seconds for
that message to be sent to the person who needs to recieve it. I am tired of
using trillian and want to use Messenger again. Suggestions wanted! thanks!

Albeit unsupported, you might want to try this:
http://www.hometownohio.com/faq/files/WinsockXPFix.exe

Simply run, click on Fix and after this is complete, reboot and you should be back to normal.
