Hi. First build.

I recently put together all the parts and everything went smoothly. I pressed the power on button and got into BIOS, no hassle. (although I did notice the CPU was running a little hot, around 70C)

I accidently left the bios screen up for 5 hours. I realized this, and don't have any trouble turning the system off.

However, just recently, I tried to turn the computer back on. The fans start up but I don't get any video input and power button doesn't turn the system off. Did I just screw something up?

A drained or broken battery wouldnt stop the PC from booting, and would only cause the BIOS to forget settings. It also wouldnt be drained from being powered on for 5 hours.

Looks like your PSU or mainboard went poof. Try reseating everything, try with a minimum configuration, do a CMOS reset.
If that doesnnt help my first guess would be the mainboard.

If your CPU was running 70 C in the BIOS and was unattended for 5 hours, there might be something different defective aswell.
70C is very high. Did you put thermal paste between CPU and cooler? Did you seat it properly? That high temperature clearly isnt normal.
