Hi everyone. I have a Old Toshiba Pro L300 Laptop from pre 2010 and is mothers so need to fix for Christmas for her. BIOS is corrupted and Display wont come on so i want to erase and reprogram the Bios after converting the EXE file to .BIN. BUT the BIOS chip is 8Mbits which is 1MB ONLY. After conversion to .Bin through CMD, Bin is 1.62mb and original Exe file i think was 4.5mb, so i assume if you can do update from windows or bios using USB, it somehow converts and squeezes the data into the small 1MB Bios chip?. I cant get the LT fully started to do this and have to reprogram the chip manually but the .BIN file is too big and the programmer warns me of this. Any solution to this pickle as i dont know if you can compress binary data?

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Hi, thanks, i tired both videos and the first, i didnt see an obvious .bin after going through a lot of the exe files and second video he is working with a diff file not a exe? very blurry video. Using the 7Zip program, i found a FD file? of 1mb dont know if thats it? Bin file has to be in that EXE even if its disguised? I need a bare bone no bloatware Bin file of 1mb or less as the Bios chip is 1mb, This is the link to the bios EXE if you want to have a go? You much better at it than me. This is a great leaning experience with the programmer although bit of a drama right now but will find a solution.
