I need to flash my bios to unlock tweaking which I hope will show intel xmp profiles so I can get my new ram to work at full speed relating to this thread:

The motherboard manufactures recommended this:

Flash BIOS SOP for UEFI Shell OS:
1, Copy BIOS folders into UEFI shell USB disk
2, Insert USB disk to B660H7-M20 M/B
3, Power on then enter BIOS setup Disable ME Disable secure boot Save and exit
4, Boot from UEFI shell USB disk
5, Go to “\RPL-B660H7-M20_221027\” folder
6. Run startup "and then press enter to start refreshing the BIOS
7. Refresh BIOS Pass and restart
8. Press DEL to enter the BIOS and load the BIOS default. Save and exit.

I am having difficulties getting these steps done, I assume I am not choosing the correct type for the usb so it is bootable, I am using rufus 4.6

choosing non bootable, GPT Target BIOS or UEFI and FAT32 file type.

The file they are asking me to run in step 6 is startup.nsh

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

You would have to double check settings specific to your motherboard.

I have a USB I keep in FAT format. Download proper BIOS file to PC and then unzip it to the USB drive. (I don't use Rufus for anything anymore) Boot to the appropriate section of BIOS which in my case is commonly "flash" or similar verbiage. Select the file and the PC takes care of the rest.

I would mention that if you have a battery backup available use it. If the power goes out during the process your mobo will be shot if not dual BIOS.
