Question Bios update failure?

Hello everyone,

I was planning on updating my pc with new fans and a new cpu. I put all the fans in and decided I should probably do a bios update since I was going from a r5 3600 to a r7 5700x3d and my bios on my x570 was from 2021 or 2022 when I bought the board. It is a asus tuf x570 gaming plus WiFi. I downloaded AI suite 3 and then the latest bios and ran the bios update through AI suite. The pc now has a white led on the motherboard, problem is, it’s been that way for over an hour at this point and I don’t know what to do. This is my first time updating a bios and I’m worried I have somehow bricked the board. Please help
 
where is the white light.. ? is it on the "debug" section. (4 lights, cpu,hdd,display and boot). sometimes after a bios update the moptherboards take time to retrain the "cpu and memory.
turn the pc of. take out the memory and had drive. and remove the battery (do no clear cmos). wait 5 minutes and then re install battery and memory. and turn on the pc... it should boot (it might reboot a few times this is normal as its training the memory. so leave it a few minutes .. it should give you a screen saying "new cpu detected. or someting like that. and for you to press "F1" it will then boot into bios. or into windows and you will be sorted. (fingers crossed.) of not install old processor and see if you get into windows ..

The white light is on the debug section of the motherboard. The cpu is still the old 3600 since I didn’t want to try to install the new one until the bios had been updated. Should I still turn it off and take out the memory and m.2 drives?
 
ok,, you could try and swap processors out.. as some manufacturers when updating bios's they delete coding support for older cpus(bios flashing is size limited) so they cut support for earlier cpus. . so it might be this case.. if so swap processors. and then " clear cmos" and add all cables and drives. and power on. and see if it does cycle training. watch the "led debugs" it might run through them a few times. just let it do it . and wait 5-10 minutes max. and it should sort it. if not make a not of what "led " is lit up.. " as this will be the 1 causing the issue.

Okay, thank you very much. I’ll swap the cpus out and clear cmos and get back to you on what happens
 
For giggles and fits I just turned it off and back on. It booted through safe mode and when I exited the bios it loaded straight to windows and seems fine. Should I just install the new cpu and see if it loads up fine?

first check if the new bios update worked.. or if it reset to the original. (some motherboards have dual bios incase 1 fails ). you should be on something like bios "4403" . you can check in windows with "cpu-z"

if all is good. and upto date.. you should be able to swap the cpus and have no problems

CPU-z says I am on 4021. It looks like the bios update didn’t work, but my system has the new cpu in and is running

if its working ,, then no need to update the bios,. unless its for a vulnerability. your bios is upto date enough to run the new cpu.. if you run into issues in a few days. just run through the bios update.
