Hello,
As the title says, I am having a problem with a blue screen at the Windows Loading screen right when the red dot shows up. I got back from vacation and randomly this problem started happening to my relatively new computer (the problem started about 2 months ago.) So far I have RMA'd the hard drive and the processor and neither did any good, so I figure it must be the motherboard. Now I am trying to install windows on it and the problem is STILL happening. My specs are:

Radeon HD 6850
Biostar A880G+
AMD II x3 Athlon

I tried enabling AHCI in the Bios (Im a pretty big noob, so this was kind of a challenge) and that still didn't help. Can someone PLEASE help me? Its been so long since I have been able to game because of this stupid problem.

Have you tried getting into Safe Mode yet?

I can't, straight from the splash screen it goes to the "Loading windows files" or whatever from my Windows install CD and then after that straight to the blue screen. My hard drive is completely empty seeing as I just got it back from RMA.

Try removing all but one stick of RAM and see if that helps. Please alos list further systems specs so we can see if something isn't playing nice with each other. It could be an under-powered PSU (unlikely). My first thought is a BAD motherboard. I stay very far away from Biostar...even ASRock is better than Bs. Clear the BIOS and try and install again to see if that helps. Also, feel the HSF to see if it's running HOT. If so, reseat the processor, reapply thermalpaste (TIM) and see if the problem persists

Let us know your specs. and post back with what you figure out.

I doubt its my processor seeing as its completely brand new (I RMA'd it) and I hope to god its not a bad motherboard. Its been 7 weeks with no computer while waiting for RMAs and 60 bucks of shipping out of pocket ( I'm only 16).
I will check in the morning for sure because I can't check right now but i'm pretty sure I have a 750w Corsair power supply. 4gb of ram. Also I understand that Biostar is a piece of *** but it was cheap in a bundle.

When you guys say these things I should try it would be great if you told me how to do them or a link because I'm not sure exactly how to clear the BIOS.

Could be HDD.

Can you remove it and try it in another PC to see if it works? If it does. 'Check disk' in the property menu. If your windows has gone corrupt that may fix it.

If that fails a fresh instal of windows just to rule out if software may be the issue.

Really? My brand new, straight-out-of-the-box HDD could be ruined? I could try the "Check disk" thing if you explain how. Also I don't know if you read the whole original post but thats what i'm trying to do. It wont let me install a new copy of windows. After it loads the CD files it just BSOD.

You can use your Windows 7 DVD to get into several options to try.

Here are some tutorials from Microsoft.
