Dear Users,

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion laptop. A couple of weeks ago, this little black cloud appeared on the bottom right of my laptop. At first, it was an easy fix, I just needed to close the lid and then re-open it. After that, the little black cloud on the bottom right would go away.

However, a couple of days ago. It didn't work. I hard reset my PC, closed the lid and re-opended it. It fixed it. Today, I tried the hard reset, reopening the lid, and nothing is working. Is there a proper fix to fix my laptop please. Thank you, any reply is appreciated.

Yours Sincerely,
Draco

What OS is installed - Windows 10?

May be a corrupted driver or application.,

Try running the built in Windows 10 troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Failing that try "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

If "sfc /scannow" does not work, post an image of the little black cloud.

Someone may recognize the shape and location and be able to narrow the cloud down to a specific application.

What Operating System is installed?
How large is the darker patch?
Can you still see the image on the screen behind the darker section, or is it completely opaque?
Was or is anything pressing on the display in that area?

Dear Jack,

Hi, my operating system is Windows 10 Home, the black patch is small on the right side. It hasn't grew or gotten darker, which is a good thing. I can still see image behind the black screen, and nothing was or is pressing on the display.

Normally, a hard reset would fix this problem. Or even closing the lid and re-opening it. However, it's not working anymore. I feel there is to much static electricity in the area where it is affected. I will wait for your opinion.

Yours Sincerely,
Draco

Thank you. I've posted a link of a photo of the black cloud.

what happens if you press both side of the screen where the black spot appear .
Dear Scout,

Hi, I've tried to push down on the side of where the black screen appears multiple times, but nothing seems to work. A few weeks ago, it worked, but I'm not sure if it works now.

I worry it could be either static electricity, a corrupted application or file on my PC. However, I'm unsure and unable to check what the issue is so I can resolve it.

Yours Sincerely,
Draco
