Discussion BLACK SCREEN ON HP NOTEBOOK 15-BA037CL. CAN HEAR BOOT UP.

I WAS TRYING TO REPLACE THE CRACKED SCREEN AND WAS TRYING TO DETERMINE HOW MANY PINS THAT WENT TO THE SCREEN CONNECTOR. I FORGOT TO UNPLUG AND REMOVE BATTERY AND TOUCHED THE CONNECTOR FROM THE COMPUTER WITH A METAL CALIBER. EVEN THO THE COMPUTER WAS TURNED OFF, THERE WAS A GOOD SIZE SPARK (I THINK I SHORTED IT TO GROUND). BEFORE THIS THE SCREEN CAME ON WITH A BUNCH OF HORTIZONAL LINES BUT NO GRAPHICS NOW NOTHING. WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED? DID I BLOW THE VIDEO GRAPHICS CARD? HOW CAN I CHECK IT? OR IS THE COMPUTER TOAST?

Very likely the motherboard is dead. When you turn on the computer does it doe anything? Lights come on at all, battery charge light, etc..? If you remove the RAM does the system give you error beeps?
